IN THE LAND OF MERRY MISFITS is a hilarious romp appropriately narrated by John Waters. Fearful of losing his gorgeous girlfriend—not to mention a cushy job with her wealthy father—Will Best hops in his old car and sets out to save his future. But when he opts for a shortcut through a mystical tunnel, his car breaks down and he becomes stranded in an alternate universe where a band of whimsical misfits believe he is “the chosen one,” sent to lead them in their quest to capture “the Grail of Popularity.”
Things aren’t going well for the misfits. Since high school, the misfits have been oppressed by the rich and beautiful of the town. And Heather, the symbolic misfit queen, has recently lost her leg in a car accident. Now Will must decide whether to be true to his new worshippers or keep on with his quest for a hot girlfriend and perpetual job security. IN THE LAND OF MERRY MISFITS is a wild and crazy comedy from the gifted and passionate filmmaker Keven Undergaro, who shows off his talent on both sides of the camera and creates a bizarre world filled with colorful characters that face all-too-familiar foes and obstacles. A truly independent film, it proves that with perseverance, good friends and originality, anything is possible.
