Lost in the fog

a very accessible and human story, even for those (like myself) who are not racing fans. beautifully shot, compelling narrative, and full of great characters. it gave me a real appreciation of the love for horses that owners and trainers have.

LAST CUP: Road to the World Series of Beer Pong

flat-out hysterical, and at the same time somehow manages to take beer pong seriously as a sport. the characters followed all have truly individual stories and personalities -- several look like they came straight out of central casting. the competition unfolds with drama throughout. a huge crowd-pleaser, it's sure to have a life well beyond the festival circuit at fraternities and bars across the country.

David Lowery 2007 | Shorts With Features
i saw this short and slamdance and loved it then. it starts out fairly straightforward, though with a distinctive device of narration over still images instead of moving pictures. then a couple of minutes in, the film takes a serious left turn, and elevates into something truly unique and memorable. the mixture of animation with the story twist make this one of the most memorable shorts i've seen at a festival.
