Vara 2008 \| Featured, Jackpot Premieres, World Premiere I saw this at the saturday screening and liked it enough to go catch it again on Sunday (I think it played better to the night crowd). Like most of the reviewers, I was impressed by the cool comic book visuals, the cheesy fun desert scene backdrops, and the rear projection used for the driving scenes. It's also one of the most qoutable films I've seen in awhile. The acting was very good overall, but the movie was OWNED by Shea Wigham's performance as Mad Dog. I'd never seen him before but plan to look up his other work. Oh yeah, the music was AWESOME. Not just a great score for an indie but a great score for any film. I hope they get that up on iTunes fast- i want a copy. Be warned though that this is not a family film. It definitely deserves a hard R and I think they should have warned the crowd what they were going to see (the director did this on sunday after some strong reactions to the saturday showing)- it is very, very violent even if the violence is highly stylized which you'll either love or hate. Catch it if you can.	6/17/2008
